"Released in 1971, Joni Mitchell's 'Blue' is generally regarded by music critics as one of the greatest albums of all time. The song 'Blue' is absolutely one of the most achingly beautiful and devastating love songs I have ever heard. She was accused of baring too much on this album. That it was too raw. She didn't know how to do it any other way though and in turn gave the world one of the greatest records ever made. Great art is born of great pain and Blue is the perfect example of that. "
lyrics
Songs are like tattoos
You know I've been to sea before
Crown and anchor me
Or let me sail away
Hey Blue
There is a song for you
Ink on a pin
Underneath the skin
An empty space to fill in
Well there're so many sinking
Now you've got to keep thinking
You can make it thru these waves
Acid, booze, and ass
Needles, guns, and grass
Lots of laughs
Lots of laughs
Everybody's saying that hell's the hippest way to go well
I don't think so
Gonna take a look around it though Blue I love you
Hey Blue
Here is a shell for you
Inside you'll hear a sigh
A foggy lullaby
Here is your song from me
